- gbaMS West Region Manager Chris Crupi provided a GBA Master Series® overview presentation to attendees of the tsaADVET 2009 FalconJAM event in San Antonio, TX. This presentation followed an update by current client Nebraska Department of Roads (NDOR) regarding their implementation and on-going expansion of their Falcon/DMS document management systems. This expansion included recently completed integration Falcon/DMS with the GBA Master Series®-based Enterprise Asset Management System (EAMS) used by their Operations Division. Phase 1 of the EAMS implementation is complete for Fleet Management, and Phase 2 EAMS implementation has recently commenced for Capitol Facilities.

AZ. gbaMS, with its strategic partner TruePoint Solutions, are currently working together on implementation of the City’s GBA Master Series®-based Enterprise Asset Management System (EAMS) for use by multiple Departments/Divisions including City Manager (Information Technology), Communications & Public Affairs (Call Center), Community Services (Buildings & Facilities, Park Development & Operations, and Recreation), Fire (Support Services), Management Services (Accounting, Central Supply-Purchasing, and Fleet Services), Municipal Utilities (Solid Waste Services and Water & Wastewater Operations), and Public Works (Airport, Engineering Administration, Transportation & Operations, Streets, and Traffic Engineering). The implementation effort includes integration of the EAMS with the City’s Oracle®-based system for management of inventory transactions and requisitions. This integration effort is being completed by gbaMS subcontractor Deloitte Consulting.

NDOR’s fleet mechanics can now navigate to a vehicle/equipment asset in the EAMS, and have easy access to all Falcon/DMS-managed electronic documents associated to that asset.

- gbaMS West Region Manager Chris Crupi reports that an article titled “Large Scale Traffic Inventory” featuring the efforts of gbaMS client Municipality of Anchorage, AK Traffic Department and gbaMS strategic partner Marshall and Associates appears in the January/February issue of Government Engineering magazine. The article describes Anchorage’s development of a comprehensive traffic control device inventory, which enabled the Department’s transition from a paper-based asset management system to a GBA Master Series® Computerized Asset Management, Capital Planning & Work Order System.
gbaMS is currently working with Marshall and Associates and geoNorth implementing Anchorage’s new System, which is expected to be completed this month.

- gbaMS East Region Manager Joel Knight, P.E. reports that gbaMS has been selected by the Niagara Falls , NY Water Board (NFWB) through a competitive process to provide an enterprise Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for managing maintenance of NFWB’s water treatment, water distribution, wastewater collection, and wastewater treatment assets. The intent of the CMMS is to assist NFWB’s various Divisions in the planning, management, and administrative functions that are essential for successful maintenance and asset management. The CMMS will serve as an operational and management tool for managing work orders and their transactional workflows including material management, backlog management, and preventive maintenance management. NFWB received assistance in their CMMS evaluation and selection efforts from their consultant Stearns & Wheler.
